EMS Provider Network
Mobile Health Resources (MHR) was created to meet the needs of a changing healthcare environment in the early 1990s. As healthcare has experienced many changes over the years, one thing has remained the same—members have transportation needs that MHR can address!
Many managed care organizations prefer to seek a provider who can cover a wide range of services with a single signature contract (one contract and one signature). In addition, many providers would rather have an “expert” handle their managed care contracting needs. MHR is the solution.

- Over 3 million covered lives currently.
- MHR transportation network comprised of over 45 providers.
- Various modes of transport provided including:
- Ambulance
- Wheelchair van
- Taxi
- Public transportation.
- Coverage provided throughout the State of Michigan.
Some of the ways that MHR can help decrease costs to managed care organizations include:
- Electronic transmission of claims (EDI);
- One contract providing statewide coverage, eliminating the need to obtain many individual contracts;
- Established providers that MHR has already credentialed, thereby eliminating the resources needed by the managed care organization to recredential all MHR providers;
- The ability to negotiate a statewide contract with MHR or contracts with individual providers based on membership need;
- Successful history of MHR providers serving various managed care contracts.
Some of the ways that MHR can help decrease costs to EMS providers include:
- -Name recognition with managed care organizations to increase business;
- MHR’s superb knowledge of reimbursement trends and sharing that knowledge with MHR providers and assisting with various billing issues;
- Facilitate contracts with various entities on behalf of the provider, allowing the EMS provider to tend to their business at hand—their patients/customer;
- Provide access to MHR’s group purchasing program whereby providers can achieve great discounts by utilizing MHR’s purchasing vendors.
MHR Contract Billing is staffed by knowledgeable individuals who have worked in the field for many years and have much experience within the MHR network as well. They are very familiar with the issues and questions that can arise with EMS billing, and with everyone working together, the contract billing staff can help resolve the problem.
What’s New??
MHR can now provide messenger model contracting to interested MHR providers and potential payors. MHR will act as the facilitator between the MHR provider and the payor in efforts to produce an agreeable contract to both parties. MHR would act as the messenger, only. This option is especially helpful in situations where the payor has membership located in specific, smaller regions and/or the provider does not have the ability or resources to handle contracting. |
